Home School Lecture and Demonstration

Kyle Cook and Sydney Yarbrough from The ARMA North Siders Study Group presented a lecture/demonstration of Renaissance Martial Arts to a group of home school children.

The presentation was adapted for elementary school aged children.
The day began with Sydney Yarbrough explaining some basic history and information about European swords and their use throughout the 12th to 17th centuries as Kyle Cook visually demonstrated some of the basic sword stances. There were many questions, not only from the kids, but interested parents and teachers as well.

A 20 minute section of free-play bouting between Kyle Cook and Sydney Yarbrough followed with much enthusiasm. Afterwards the kids were allowed to examine the different weapons.
